Some of my Favourite Things

Grahan and Ammie arrived yesterday, tired but glad to be in Wales with two other happy walkers. Well we are trusting that Allan will be joining us. This sign is stragetically placed outside the tourist information centre
Here in Wales there is a big push for the native tongue to be taught in schools and spoken by locals. Most signage has Welsh first and then English so this sign was unusual.
The Five Alls is a pub!
The Coronation is on Saturday May 6 but Monday is the public holiday when lots of parties will be happening.
Another favourite sign.
sometimes we just sit and look at the River and ask Wye....
In between the downpours the bunting was still.
The cloud formations were beautiful today. The rain came and went many times along with many rumbles of thunder. Perhaps a foretaste of what is ahead for us. Our wet weather gear will be at the top of our packs tomorrow. We have really enjoyed exploring Chepstow, learning about its history, visiting the castle, watching the river and meeting the friendly locals.
But we have come all this way to walk along the Wye Valley, so are you ready boots? This is the offical starting point. This rock was transported from the source of the river (our destination) and a rock from Chepstow has been placed at the finish of the walk.
